Sr. Program Manager
San Francisco, CA

The Sr. Program Manager will be responsible for driving projects from inception through to deployment, over a worldwide scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Manager is expected to partner with the worldwide Sony Engineering and Productorganization to lead, manage, and drive forward software projects including:
* Owning the project schedule, task assignments, and managing schedule progress - from large phases through to detailed tasks, including understanding and managing dependencies.
* Collaborating with staff and management of multiple worldwide business units, and outside 3rd parties (including subject matter experts, design teams, and technology teams) to clearly identify, explain, and communicate their project involvement, project goals, expectations, and tasks.
* Candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to establishing methods and metrics for tracking performance and making decisions within the Program Management group.
* 5 years experience working in a Program/Project Management capacity for digital media software. Project Management with UI design/development also desired.
* 2 years experience in Agile development methodologies and principles strongly desired.
* Requires solid understanding of programming languages and software lifecycle and release processes.
* Requires proficiency in one or more Project Management tools, preferably tools used in Agile development (Rally, Jira Greenhopper, Version One, etc.). Expertise with other Project Management and communication tools, such as Wiki and SharePoint, also desired.
* Must be comfortable with authoring many types of documents, including scope, requirements, agendas, action plans, and project plans. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
* Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions.
* Must excel in conflict resolution, negotiation, and people management across Western and Japanese cultures. Japanese language skills helpful.
* Motivated, organized self-starter with the ability to solve routine or complicated problems effectively.
* Should be very familiar with digital media software and networking technologies, especially those related to Sony's Consumer Electronics devices (e.g., Playstation 3, PSP, Walkman, etc).
