The Personal Imaging & Sound Business Group of Sony Corporation in Japan, is responsible for creating our Cyber-shot digital camera, Handycam camcorder, Alpha digital SLR camera, and Bloggie HD snap camera. Personal Imaging & Sound of America (PI&SA) division of Sony Electronics in San Diego, CA supports the advancement of these product lines through the creation of new functionality or features within our existing product lines, or completely new products using existing digital imaging technology.

PI&SA currently has an opening for a Strategic Business Development Manager to work in their San Diego, CA location. This Strategic Business Development Manager will be responsible for the management of a business function without direct supervisory responsibilities. This position evaluates and manages new strategic product line opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures in the digital imaging area, and also executes product planning including market analysis, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs and product requirement.

You will provide leadership in the design, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business objectives. You will define vision, strategies, and tactics for all of Sony's digital imaging products. You will assist in the selecting, developing, and evaluating of personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. This position will receive assignments in the form of objectives, and you will determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. You will provide guidance to others within the latitude of established company policies, and recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration is required or equivalent; MBA preferred.
* Must have 5 to 7 years of related experience
* Experience in consumer electronics especially digital imaging is preferred
* Demonstrated leadership in leading internal and external matrix teams or projects is required
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels within and outside of the organization including: verbally, in writing and in a more formal meeting / presentation setting
* Demonstrated ability to evaluate emerging business opportunities with an integrated view of business, market, and technical factors
* Must have excellent persuasive and presentation skills
* Must possess excellent organizational skills
* Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
* Ability to recognize and analyze problems and then develop and implement solutions as required
* Ability to travel domestically or internationally if needed
