Premier services offered by SNE
include the PlayStation Network and the Qriocity video and music services (now
known as Sony Entertainment Network Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited). The
Product Design Group within SNEI - San Diego is the agent for bringing Sony
products and service like these onto the Network Platform. The team is
responsible for determining how the business objectives can be achieved on the
platform infrastructure in a fashion compelling the consumer. The team works
closely with other business and design groups in the larger Sony family to
bring consistency and clarity to all products and services falling under the
Sony Entertainment Network umbrella.
The Directorof Product Management will oversee an
organization that consists of producers, business analysts, and product
designers, who collectively transform business vision into business reality on
the Network Platform. The team is a virtual hub of communication between
business stakeholders, solution architects, and product development teams. The
team is expected to work with a very diverse collection of business groups
around the world, formulating product strategies and consistently feeding
well-structured work efforts to the development teams, using Agile and Scrum
development methodologies.
It's required that the Director of
Product Management have an extensive product management or product design
background, experience managing people and building organizations. This person
must be able to articulate a clear vision for the group and empower them to do
their part in making business happen on the Network Platform.
* Experience transforming business and
design requirements into real products and services with a focus on usability.
* Passion for technology and design; a
deep understanding of web user experience design and web development best
practices.
* Experience in strategic planning and
execution of technology initiatives.
* Demonstrated success managing
priorities and personalities in cross-functional teams; ability to effectively
communicate direction to staff.
* Must be detail oriented and be able
to keep up with a fast paced, dynamic environment.
* Experience with Agile and Scrum
software development methodology.
* Bachelor's degree in Design,
Computer Science or related field
* 8-12 years work experience including
relevant management experience.
* 5 years work experience building
internet products and services
