Sony Electronics Inc. has an excellent career opportunity available for an experienced nationally focused Railway Market Business Development Manager within our Security Systems Division. This Business Development Manager will be collaborating with End Users (Major Railway), A&Es (Consultant), value-add applications providers (VAAP) who provide security solutions, and SI partners to drive Sony security revenue by developing and successfully implementing a national sales plan, targeting the Railway markets. The Business Development Manager will be identifying key partners who provide Railway security solutions and who will collaborate with Sony to mutual benefit. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for establishing and building relationships with End Users (Major Railway), A&Es (Consultant), and VAAP partners and then creating new projects by providing the security solutions to the customers.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing and closing the projects with Regional Sales team. This is an individual contributor position, responsible for building, managing and leading teams of people who do not directly report to them. The Business Development Manager will also be working closely with internal co-workers in marketing, sales, engineering, product management and distribution. This role requires travel around 80% of time (across US). Location for work could be Park Ridge, NJ or a work from home opportunity.
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration is required or equivalent
* Must have 5 to 7 years of related experience in the security industry with an in depth knowledge of Railway market security solutions.
* Must have Railway end-user and partner knowledge and proven experience selling security solutions into the Railway market
* A strong working knowledge of IT networking, preferred
* Excellent interpersonal, team building and negotiation skills are needed
* Strong business planning, presentation and communication skills
* Basic Microsoft Office skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Must be able to travel 50-80% of time
