Application Integration Engineer San Diego, CA The Integration Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and supporting device and client application integration efforts. Will be responsible for integrating devices and client applications with both current and new services that are in the development process. For example, the Application Integration Engineer will integrate and validate new features of the Sony PlayStation® Store on the PS3 and PSP platforms. This position will have access to various new devices and client applications in order to perform pre-release validation and integration work. Responsibilities: * Support integration efforts with existing devices, client applications, and services that integrate with the Sony PlayStation® Store. * Work with the Java and C development teams to trouble shoot issues which often come up with workaround solutions to prevent integration efforts from stalling. * Set up validation data sets as required for device integration. * Be aware of new functionality being developed, release timeframes, and involved with the engineering development teams. * Know what the external commitments are for incremental development milestones; when these milestones will be delivered for integration and general release. * Quickly gain the knowledge of our current NP features, architecture and services and the external interfaces exposing those services. * Be knowledgeable on the devices being integrated with the platform, how those devices work; and how the teams developing those devices work. * Learn, document and manage how to set up new devices and services on our platform. * Be comfortable working with external customers in other time zones, globally. * Be able to systematically work through problems and offer practical solutions. * A minimum of 5 years of experience in Java * A minimum of 3 years with a SQL-based DB development (Oracle preferred) * Web Services integration experience * Understand and be able to articulate best coding practices when using Web Services and Java APIs. * Ability to quickly learn complex server APIs. * Experience in a Scrum, Agile development environment. * Experience in a high volume ecommerce environment. * BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience. * Bilingual in Japanese a definite plus.
